History

Savile Row Company was founded in 1938 by Gerry Doltis — a master tailor who made suits for many of the leading entertainment and establishment figures of the day. After being called to National Service in 1939, his London factory was destroyed during the Blitz. The company ceased trading until he returned.

Once returning home, Gerry restarted the business and moved into larger premises. Savile Row Company soon became a leading supplier of luxury clothing for department stores across the UK. In 1998, his son Jeffrey — now managing director — opened 40 Savile Row. Throughout its 23 years on the iconic street, the shop welcomed many influential men and women. From suits to shirts and accessories, it offered a wide range of bespoke and ready-to-wear garments for a wide range of occasions.

In December 2021, 40 Savile Row closed in order to broaden in-person customer experience. An enhanced store was developed in Savile Row Company’s owned headquarters in Coach & Horses Yard, just a few minutes away. The new space provides the same level of service and products presented in discreet, luxurious surroundings.

Savile Row Company Custom Made officially opened in March 2022.
